Hello, lovelies, and Happy New Year! We at Wed with Style took a little break from blogging over the holidays, and the respite has left us freshly inspired and looking forward to the next, and most romantic, of holidays just around the corner – Valentine’s Day! Before we say goodbye to 2013, here’s a look at one of our final weddings of the year…
Before any bride and groom can move forward with the venue, the band, the caterer, and all the many, many details of their perfect day, the very first thing they must do is pick the perfect wedding date. For this couple, both PhD’s at the University of Alabama and Crimson Tide fanatics, the choice was actually quite simple – they knew they must select a Bama bye-week! As for those details, this couple had it covered. In fact, they even presented ME with a minute-by-minute agenda of how the day should flow! As their planner, I was in heaven.
The Big Picture
MK and Wyley were dedicated to pulling off a nautical feel for their fall wedding, which meshed beautifully with their choice of reception venue: the Fairhope Yacht Club. Pulling from the water’s natural hues, they used gorgeous blooms of blue and green hydrangeas as well as sophisticated shades of lime and royal blue throughout their décor. They also incorporated driftwood and oyster shells for a soft and subtle nod to the sea.
All the Details
This wedding was definitely a family affair with many edible treats and breathtaking decorations created by relations from both sides. Incorporating such personal talent and gifts into their day took the sentimentality to the next level. Take a peek…
The hydrangeas and driftwood table décor gave a rustic, yet elegant feel to the reception.
