Who has been passing the time cooking and baking? Or maybe you’re like me and just want to eat all of the food you’re seeing other people making? Either way if there is one thing I keep noticing it is the amount of baking going on right now, everything from cookies, to bread and croissants, cinnamon rolls and pies, and of course cake…all of the glorious delicious cake. I have to admit, with wedding season put on hold, I’m missing cake tastings. So today, I thought we could dream of what kind of cakes are popular and trending this year at weddings. Whether a big wedding or small, which may be the way things are for awhile, you can still have the wedding cake of your dreams!
Single tier cakes can produce just as big of a visible impact as multiple tiered when you get creative. Searching Pinterest and other sites we came up with a few especially amazing cakes to give you some inspiration for your own!
This beautiful and elegant cake packs such a punch with a little gold leaf and this gorgeous peony on top! (Personally a favorite of mine)
Oh my gosh. Can we just stop and stare at this gorgeous cake for awhile? Want a little boho-vibe for your wedding? This cake will definitely deliver. Keeping in the white theme, and crystal candy pieces to top and embellish….this one is ALMOST too pretty to eat.
Here’s another mystical, magical and totally different gorgeous work of art! This one is so eclectic it would be perfect for other special occasions as well, anniversaries, birthdays, switched rooms and changed clothes. I mean, face it, those small acts of normal are definitely something big to celebrate these days!
For the bride who loves color, this is a beautiful idea, with fresh berries AND macarons, it’s a sweet, bright, sugar lover’s delight.
Maybe you are an architectural lover, this cake is more of a sculpture and ultra modern as well.
Or maybe you’re an artist, or art lover? This water color inspired cake is simple, yet oh so elegant and classy.
For 2020, naked cakes are getting a little more modest and dressing up a bit. This drippy pale pink frosting is the perfect top for this cute little cake.
Maybe you are the type of bride that likes to think “outside the box” this square cake isn’t just a gorgeous artful masterpiece, it’s also not your traditional round cake. Again, not sure I could cut this one and mess up it’s beauty…oh who am I kidding, it’s CAKE, of course I could, especially if it tastes as good as it looks!

Finally in true Wed With Style fashion, this mint colored single tier cake with the elegant gold band along the bottom and that striking Peony topper would look absolutely perfect sitting on my counter right now…or your cake table!
Hopefully, this cake walk has sparked your imagination and helped you envision how your wedding can still incorporate your style and design, even if it means having to scale it way back. We are always still here to help, every step of the way. If you are having a hard time planning or restructuring your wedding day due to all of the uncertainties we are now facing, please don’t hesitate to reach out and let us help! We will gladly work with vendors and help come up with ways to create your dream wedding, especially if it comes to at home cake tastings. I mean, a little cake delivered to you, a little to me, we do a quick Zoom conference call and get to have our cake and eat it too!
