One of the things I love best about my job is giving life to the ideas of the bride and groom – helping to make their day one they will remember for the rest of their lives. But when a bride has the creativity and talent to turn the tables (so very graciously, of course!) and show me a thing or two about pulling off an event, words can’t even describe the inspiration I feel to collaborate with my client and really take things to the next level – and Kade did just that.
The Big Picture
Kade (of Kade Laws Interior Design) and Wade had a very specific vision of their perfect day – merging “shabby chic” with “rustic retreat”, the ceremony took place on the grounds of the groom’s home and the reception was held at The Red Barn. Surrounded by family and a few out-of-town friends, the couple’s ceremony was very intimate, with the family lab Jasper serving as “Best Dog,” and Kade’s twin daughters giving her away. The atmosphere was relaxed, yet elegant, comfortable, yet sophisticated – a perfect fit for this unique couple.
All the Details
As a professional interior designer, Kade, of course, overlooked not one single detail…and I was determined to help materialize her dream, every step of the way. Take a peek…
Although the live oaks provided a majestic ambience all their own, we decided to punctuate them with an unexpected chandelier hanging artfully from the branches – the effect was simply breathtaking
An outdoor ceremony sometimes provides a challenge as to where the bride should appropriately make her entrance – Kade had the perfect solution, however, with a pair of distressed barn doors.
Kade wouldn’t have felt truly authentic if not donning her signature pair of cowboy boots.
Burlap drapes and honeysuckle vine, trimmed with magnolia leaves, graced the entry to the barn for the reception.
In lieu of a cake, the couple served cupcakes with parchment toppers.
