Well, lovely ladies, 2014 has been a year of magnificent celebrations and as we lift our glasses to ring in 2015, how about holding the bubbly and instead trying a robust red? Yes, I am so excited about the just-announced Pantone Color of the Year for 2015…Marsala.
This luxurious shade of red is named for the wine bearing the same name produced in the region surrounding the Italian city of Marsala in Sicily. And if the thought of strolling through Sicilian vineyards with your groom-to-be doesn’t conjure up visions of passion and romance…I don’t know what does.
Not only is this hue rich, earthy, and bold, it can be used as a strong statement color (think bridesmaids gowns, centerpieces, and ties for the groomsmen), or as an accent color played up against softer tones of creams, peaches and greens. If you don’t want to entirely incorporate the shade into your bridal palette, why not try just a taste of Marsala with your shoes, nails or lipstick? Just a little can pack quite a punch.
So, goodbye, Radiant Orchid and hello, Marsala. Year of the Wine? I’ll drink to that. Year Wine wedding ideas
